Salvea offers a wide range of massage training courses with the aim of playing an active role in society in terms of preventive health, healing and contributing to a better understanding of our bodies. We would like to contribute to the general well being by democratising massage and by making it reachable for everyone. We therefore offer training courses that are open to everyone,

whether professional massage therapist and physiotherapist, as well as non-professionals starting out. The courses have the aim of contributing to your therapeutic know-how, to develop your work in the preventive health sector or to give you the opportunity to be able to “exchange” with your friends and family.

Our training sessions offer unrivalled gain for your professional know- how. You will, however, not just benefit from the teaching quality, but also from the warm atmosphere during the training courses at the Salvea Massage Centre.

The content of our training courses is foremost practical, but a summary of the techniques will be given to you during the course in form of a syllabus.

From a practical point of view, our courses take place during weekdays.

Swedish massage course

Swedish massage course

You want to become skilled at a complete hour- long massage (to one hour and a half) and become most efficient at reducing physical and psychological tensions?

This course gives you the opportunity to learn Swedish massage techniques, as massage therapists trained in the Axelson Institute in Stockholm use them. By following the precise instructions of our trainers, you learn how to massage in the framework of a system that has been recognised for its efficiency in muscle relaxation.

Swedish massage follows a particular protocol (effleurage- gliding strokes with the palms, pétrissage- kneading movements, friction- rub-down, circular pressure, shaking, stretching and tapping) that has the aim of gradually heating the skin and its different muscular layers, to facilitate a deeply pleasant and painless massage. The direction of the massage always follows the direction of the blood circulation (towards the heart) and every movement massages the muscle from a maximum of angles.

This massage is given directly on the skin with the help of pleasant plant-based massage oil. During the course you will always work in pairs, in order for everyone to get a chance to learn how to massage, as well as receiving the learnt massage movements.

In addition, a full hour Swedish massage is included in the price of the course, which you are invited to receive prior to the beginning of the course. In this way you can get a feeling for the massage before practising it.

Traditional Thai Massage course

Traditional Thai Massage course

Traditional Thai Massage retains from Buddhism, a philosophy it is influence by, that human beings, as well as the universe we live in, are composed of energy. This energy runs through the body in energetic lines called “sen”. These lines correspond to the Chinese acupuncture meridians and the Indian nadis. Blockages on these lines (or circuits) perturb the balance and create tensions, pains and in the long term- illnesses. The principle of Thai massage is to harmonise this internal energetic circulation, by stimulating and liberating the external zones.

During this course, you will learn different Thai massage techniques and movements: pressure on energetic points, stretches, rotations, twists, arterial compresses, gentle movements for working on the joints. You will learn how to massage with your hands, elbows, forearms, knees and even your feet. We will show you how to take up a good working posture, how to use the weight of your body, rather than muscular strength, as well as your breath, in order to make the massage even more efficient.

To give and receive a Thai massage is the ideal way to obtain a gentle energy exchange, intrinsic to everyone. It always implies a two-way exchange, its success depending on the kindness and compassion that accompany it.

Plantar reflexology course

Plantar reflexology course

You are starting out and are looking for a reliable, efficient and simple massage technique, both to learn and to give, that doesn’t require any particular equipment? Or perhaps you are a professional massage therapist and would like to complement and round off your know-how?

Foot reflexology is a complementary health care method and therapy that, through simple touch on a particular distal point, aims to act on the related organ or part of the body. The zones worked on are called “reflex zones” and are primarily situated on the feet and hands.

By working these particular reflex zones of the body, the entire organism can be harmonised, the organs can be regulated and a state of deep relaxation can be attained, which will by itself support the body’s self healing mechanisms and correct existing complaints.

As a simple and efficient practice that does not require any particular medical knowledge, reflexology is a therapeutic means, which is very useful to alleviate pain and functional disorders within the family, at the workplace or in self- treatment.
