A key to health

Well-being and relaxation are what you’ve come to find at Salvea Massage Center. Faced with the stresses and strains of everyday life, massage is the ideal way to unwind.

But above massage has tremendous health benefits. Over 2000 years ago, Hippocrates already described how certain ills could be cured using various massage techniques.

Today, the health benefits of massage are universally acknowledged by modern medicine. Massage is advised for treating high blood pressure, but also to help give up smoking and to combat stress in everyday life. Over recent years, a number of in-depth studies from all around the globe have shown the role massage can play in preventing work-related ailments. Massage is recognised as being particularly effective in tackling the main cause of short-term sick leave – back or headache.

Massage is also renowned for:

- Reducing blood pressure, arterial hypertension, the effects of stress and fatigue

- Easing muscle and joint aches and pains

- Improving the immune system, mood and concentration

- Stimulating the blood system and promoting the filtration of toxins

- Alleviating menstrual pain, tensions and muscular fatigue

- Increasing the body’s healing power

- Relieving PMT

According to the oriental tradition, health is not just the absence of illness (as it is often the case in the western conception), but positive health needs to be sustained and supported (=prevention).

Illness is a disorder in the circulation of the internal energy system. Healing is therefore attained, when the person regains an inner harmonious energy circulation. Health cannot be reduced to physical well being alone, or to an absence of illness. It is the expression of an inner balance that takes into account all the internal and external life factors that nourish our feeling of wholeness.

We need to consider the search for health as a search for balance in all aspects of our lives.

Salvea’s range of massages are designed to increase your wellbeing by improving your health.
